Applying sound can add a variety of elements into a project with the combination of infographics. The use of sound will enable itself to act as an indicator to communicate the pitch levels.

In my FMP, such approach will be useful to differentiate the security levels. Using a higher pitch for dangerous cyber threats and oppositely a lower pitch for the less dangerous ones.

I have decided the theme of my FMP has to feel very cyber and serious as the brief I set for it has a highly influential issue around the world. Therefore it needs to be less humour or even none.
For the interaction, a few boxes are applied to filter the cyber threats, allowing user to view the levels of risk about each individual threat so that they can get an early idea of them before reading any other information.

Jumping from Processing to Html
Just as I realised that my FMP will make a lot more sense when it is done in a web format, as cyber threats are all about the internet. Without the internet, the damage that they can deal is minimum. Therefore launching the project to the internet as a website would be more suitable for such situation.
This can be easily converted from Processing to Html, although complex image making will be harder to achieve. They have to be done by borrowing utilities from other software. However on the other hand, having the idea of sending the project out to the world to raise the awareness about the internet itself would be as important as getting the aesthetic right.

Journey to the Exoplanets App by Brandwidth

"Journey to the Exoplanets provided a fascinating opportunity to create an immersive app," said Dean Johnson, Executive Creative Director of Brandwidth. "We explored the far reaches of the iPad’s technological capabilities utilizing Multi-Touch gestures, 3D environments, and database control to design and develop an app that presents a genuine 21st century reading experience for a tech-savvy audience."

Multi-Touch gestures is one of the possibilities of what can be applied to my FMP that allows it functions in a more efficient way, as the user is going to be dealt with a wide range of data and materials. It might limit any chances of having simultaneous movements if only one point on the screen is available for each action.

This video showing what could the furniture look like sitting in your home before you even buy them. Using augmented reality could predict something that does not physically exists, but can be seen as virtual. There is a possibility that i can adapt that to my FMP, showing something that is not visible or something that is conceptual, such as virus, malware, spyware and many other related cyber threats.

HUSH Collabs on Interactive Toyota Prius Installation at Detroit Auto Show
A new way of selling a product is included in this project, having a interactive system projected onto the window, allowing visitors to browse through information. Getting rid of the old fashion booklet for information and replaces it with a high end designed technology can argument the the feel and value of the product. Also they do not have to have a physical object to hold on to as the information will appear on screen.

The Sensorium: A Journey into Scent

4D interactive design is one of the thing that I have not seen much in real life. Especially in this piece using scents as an interaction tool can really delight, surprise and engage visitors through the magic and beauty of scent. It must be a very special experience going through different layers of scents, guessing and finding out where they are from. Besides the scents, visuals and sounds are also involved in this project, enhancing the elemental and unforgettable moments.

For my FMP, I want to create a slider that allows the user to adjust the level of security. That means content changes depending on the value of the security levels. So far I have used colour to work as the content because I have not got content ready yet. For the future development, without letting the interesting colours go to waste, I can possibly blend the colours into the slider to get a taste of the visualisation as well as having the content next to it changing simultaneously.

This is probably old but I am really excited by it. I thought about taking the similar approach for my final major project. Unfortunately that did not take place due to the limited resources and required skills but hopefully I will be able to achieve that in the near future.

The company ‘Oblong’ has develop the ‘g-speak’ a way of interaction with gloves in a ‘minority report’ style. So why is this new? The technology uses two gloves that not only read spatial movement from left to right like Softkinetic but also from front to back. This allows you to manipulate or control objects in a much richer way.

Selecting an object can be done for instance by closing the hand palm; grabbing an object, just like in the real world. Now you start to realize how unnatural the whole idea of a mouse is. By moving your hand forward or backwards you can for instance zoom in and out of a picture. This way of interacting gives people the possibility to select and manipulate objects in all three axis.

This has really struck my mind, the interactive design changes the way of a formal presentation to become a virtual experience. It has certainly brought the different methods of presentation to a whole new world.

"Engaging visitors with innovators at the leading edge of art and technology, both here at MSU and around the globe, is key to the Broad Art Museum’s mission," said founding director Michael Rush. "With the Virtual Broad Art Museum, we have an opportunity to embrace the tremendous creative and connective possibilities that exist in the digital world."

After entering the virtual museum, users select an avatar and move through the space with either a keyboard or a mouse, as they would navigate a virtual gaming environment. Visitors have the option to interact with other users with a chat feature, and the space also facilitates virtual lectures and performances, with up to 100 visitors from anywhere in the world.
